RAISED TO NEW LIFE

Baptism is a Christian ceremony in which a believer goes into water as a public sign of faith in Jesus Christ. The water symbolizes washing away sin and welcoming a person into the Christian faith. It represents purification, spiritual rebirth, and joining the church. Going under pictures leaving the old life behind, and coming up pictures walking in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4).

Jesus Himself was baptized (Matthew 3:13-17) and told His followers to baptize new disciples in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). New believers in the book of Acts were baptized after responding to the Gospel (Acts 2:38). Salvation is a gift of God's grace received through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9). Baptism is the outward sign of that inward change and a public act of obedience.

Anyone who has decided to follow Jesus Christ is welcome, including children. You do not need to be a member of Healthy Hearts Ministries, and you do not need to have everything figured out. If you were baptized before and wonder about your next step, or you are unsure whether you are ready, contact our team and our pastors will gladly talk and pray with you.

Baptism is done by immersion: going fully under the water and being raised back up, as in Romans 6:4 and Colossians 2:12. Our pastors and team will guide you through each step. Wear clothing you do not mind getting wet, and bring a change of clothes and a towel. We will confirm the exact details when we confirm your date.

Absolutely. Baptism is a celebration, so invite the people who matter to you. Afterward we encourage you to keep growing through worship, Bible study, prayer, and discipleship, and to stay connected with your church family at our Sunday and Wednesday services.
